Why I’m Not Considering Any On-Site Jobs Anymore
The pandemic proved that remote work isn’t just possible for tech professionals like me, it’s often preferable. There are just too many benefits to ignore.

1. Time Regained
I’ve eliminated 2-3 hours spent commuting per day. That time goes to my family, my hobbies, studying, or catching up on rest — making me a better employee overall.
2. Increased Productivity
Without the distractions of a bustling office, my focus is laser-sharp. I’m amazed at how much more I accomplish in a day.
3. Personal Workspace
Almost companies can’t provide the expensive ergonomic desk and chair, three monitors, high-end microphone and headphones, or even a foot massager that I have at home. This customized setup allows me to work at my best.
4. Improved Work-Life Balance
It sounds simple, but being able to relaxing on the couch or playing with my cat during a break has dramatically reduced my stress levels.
5. Money Saved
The cost savings are real — from gas money, lunches out, snacks, or even housing costs. My bank account is happier too.
I understand that some companies or managers worry that remote work will negatively impact team relationships. That’s why I might be open to a truly exceptional opportunity for “some really attractive jobs” that requires 1-2 days per week or less in the office.
However, if a company is concerned about employees not working effectively remotely, could the problem be with their traditional management style, work processes, or the organization’s KPIs? These are things to consider.
P.S. Remote work is fantastic, but it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution.
